Volkswagen suspends the manufacture of boxes in Córdoba until March 31

Volkswagen Argentina announced this Friday that it decided to stop for 11 days its gearbox production plant that operates in the city of Córdoba, on the road to San Carlos.

In a statement, the German automaker said that the measure was taken “in compliance with the regulations issued by the National Executive Power”, which imposes “mandatory, preventive and social isolation” to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The stoppage also affects its automotive production plant located in Pacheco, Buenos Aires.

“Volkswagen Group Argentina announces the suspension of its production activities for its Industrial Centers in Pacheco and Córdoba from March 20 to 31, 2020. This measure aims to preserve the health of its employees and family due to the progress of Covid- 19 ”, the company specified.

He also clarified that the administrative staff will continue with their tasks through the remote work modality and that “the progress of the situation will be closely followed to continue taking the necessary measures with a focus on the health and safety of the collaborators, their families and the community”.
