US sanctions subsidiary of Russian oil company Rosneft for ties to Venezuela

WASHINGTON, Mar 12 (Reuters) – The United States imposed sanctions on another Rosneft affiliate on Thursday to increase pressure on the Russian state-owned oil company, which the government of President Donald Trump says provides revenue to Venezuela.

The US Treasury Department blacklisted TNK Trading International, a Swiss subsidiary of Rosneft. In February, Washington sanctioned Rosneft Trading SA because it had evaded sanctions and propped up the Venezuelan oil sector.
