Apr 7 (Reuters) – The United States Baseball League (MLB) poured cold water on Tuesday to reports that it plans to resume activity in May, despite the coronavirus crisis, noting that several options are being considered.
With reports circulating that MLB is looking into the later stages of a plan that the 30 teams would play for a time in Arizona, the MLB tried to minimize any idea that it will return to action before it is safe. .

“The MLB has been actively considering numerous contingency plans that would allow the sport to begin once the public health situation has improved to the point where it is safe to do so,” the league said in a statement.
“While we have discussed the idea of organizing parties in one place as a potential option, we are not fully in agreement with that option nor have we developed detailed planning,” he added.
The possible MLB plan, according to an ESPN report, has the support of high-ranking federal public health officials.
