The Secretariat of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) specified that among the investigations that the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) against the health sector in the past administration, they are not against former health secretary José Narro.

Through a Twitter post, the SHCP specified that unlike the other cases, which were opened to investigate specific individuals, the FIU is not investigating Narro Robles, former head of the Ministry of Health (SSa) and former rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

During a morning press conference held at the National Palace, Nieto Castillo explained that the UIF investigates a scheme of “illegal hiring”, particularly in the now defunct Seguro Popular.

This adds to the investigations against Rosario Robles, former Secretary of Social Development (Sedesol) and Territorial and Urban Development (Sedatu), against the former director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Emilio Lozoya and the former owner of Sedesol, Luis Miranda, which remain open and will continue in accordance with the law.

The arrests, seizures and freezing of accounts are the product of a joint work and coordinated with other agencies such as the Ministry of Public Function (SFP), directed by Irma Eréndira Sandoval and the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) directed by Alejandro Gertz Manero.
