The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru – Senamhi reported that snow is expected in the central and southern highlands, from the afternoon of Wednesday 10 to the night of Thursday, May 11.

The rainfall would affect areas above 4,300 meters above sea level in the southern highlands of the Tacna, Moquegua, Puno, Arequipa, Cusco, Apurímac, and Ayacucho regions; and sectors over 4,500 masl in the central highlands, such as Huancavelica, Junín, Lima, Pasco, Huánuco, Áncash.

The body attached to the Ministry of the Environment, reported that the snowfall will be light, and may accumulate amounts of between 5 and 10 centimeters. Also, they will be accompanied by an increase in wind speed.
