They denounced a teacher from Catamarca for harassment in virtual classes


Fourteen students from a Higher Education Institute of Catamarca reported to the establishment authorities to a teacher who would have sent them messages and images with inappropriate content during virtual classes implemented by the coronavirus pandemic.

The young women are students of the Teaching Staff in Special Education with orientation in Intellectual Disability of the Institute of Higher Education (IES) Juan Manuel Chavarría.

After having stated that they felt harassed by a professor of the race, the establishment reported the situation to the Ministry of Education of the province, which filed a criminal complaint against the man.

“We comply with the presentation made by a group of students, who were receiving virtual classes in which they noticed and reported to the authorities of the Institute a supposed harassment situation or risque proposals by a teacher towards them ”, explained this Friday the lawyer from the legal area of ​​the Ministry of Education Orlando Barrientos.

In this line, he indicated that “the Provincial Directorate of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Education made the respective complaint in accordance with the law, which is established in article 18 on the defense of women, regardless of whether or not it falls into crime. That will be determined by Justice ”.

The case is in the hands of the prosecutor Ezekiel Walther, who will take testimony to all the students and carry out technological skills.
