They arrested 27 people in Catamarca for violating the quarantine: they had gathered to play dice


Catamarca police arrested 27 people in Tinogasta for violating the quarantine. The detainees had gathered to play dice in three different addresses. In addition, alcoholic beverages, sound equipment and motorcycles were seized.

Commissioner General Oscar Barrios explained that the troops carried out the operation in homes located in the Progreso, Robledo neighborhoods and a house on 25 de Mayo Street. Some offenders, according to the official report, they would have tried to escape.

The proceedings began from 9pm on Friday and ended around 3am on Saturday. In total, there are 27 arrested people, among whom are six women – one of them a teacher – and a repeat offender, who has already received a warning for violating the quarantine.

Since the beginning of the preventive and compulsory social isolation, decreed by the President on March 20, in Tinogasta, around 170 people were arrested, while in the province they number about 1,548 and 448 vehicles were hijacked.
