Supermarkets and the trade union agreed that all formats work in a band that does not exceed the band from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Business hours in supermarkets, in all their commercial formats (hypermarkets, supermarkets, proximity formats, self-services, etc.) will be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (that is, until 8 p.m. maximum), from Monday to Sunday, including holidays, while the exceptional situation provided by Decree of Necessity and Urgency 297 continues, which imposed the quarantine to try to minimize the circulation of people and, with it, the circulation and activity of the coronavirus, which today is It took its fourth life in Argentina and continues to wreak havoc in several European countries.

The agreement signed yesterday will be subject to review “depending on the new provisions that the National Executive Power dictates on the matter,” says the text signed by Cavalieri and Martínez.

Until now, each chain was handled with different schedules, in a time slot that could extend from 7 to 24 hours and even allow formats with employee turnover for 24-hour service. On weekends and holidays, the average opening hours were from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and the closing hours from 9:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The agreement reached seeks to unify the schedule, so as not to contribute to public confusionor, and fundamentally, reducing attention at night, to discourage late circulation, so that they are super attended at a time that allows a good flow of purchases for customers but does not overload employees and expose them to times that complicate their return to homes by public transportation.
