SMEs ask Anses to pay the wages of companies with less than 40 employees

The Argentine Confederation of Medium-sized Enterprises (Came) asked the national government this Friday to provide through Anses the payment of 100% of the net salary to workers of SMEs that employ up to 40 people, given the economic situation caused by social isolation required.

In a letter to the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, the entity released a document with proposals prepared by its Department of Economic Studies, linked to the Work and Production Assistance Program, and, in particular, to the complementary salary.

“We promptly request that this benefit be expanded and through ANSES 100% of the net salary be paid to SME workers who employ up to 40 people, considering that they represent 30.3% of total job generation and a salary mass net of $ 70,701 million, “said Came.

In the note to Cafiero, the entity explained that the request is motivated by “the pressing situation in which the sector finds itself, deeply affected by the decline in commercial and productive activity, and the economic retraction that the pandemic has caused.”

“In this context, and in view of the lack of income suffered by the majority of SMEs in our country, we consider essential the accompaniment of the State to avoid the closure of companies, and thus preserve the sources of employment they provide, taking into account that As explained in this study, this contribution represents 0.1% of the estimated GDP for 2020, “he said.

Came reiterated his support for the concrete actions carried out by the National Government to take care of employment and production, but understood that “it is essential that deeper measures be taken to sustain the SME sector, which is the most affected by the pandemic.”

Last week, the entity asked the Government to allow the opening of commercial items not excepted based on a “staggered scheme by sector”, which could be carried out without attention at the premises, with the dispatch of products through different shipping channels. and with digital payments.

This was expressed on that occasion in a letter to the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, in which he raised the sector’s concern about “partially recomposing commercial activity, seriously affected by the pandemic.”
