The head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, affirmed this Friday night that the City of Buenos Aires “continues to quarantine“. He did so within the framework of the conference that he gave together with President Alberto Fernández and Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof, in which the advance of the quarantine was announced.

Rodríguez Larreta appreciated the “joint work with the Nation and the province of Buenos Aires” and assured that this union is “one of the reasons for the good result” that Argentina shows, “compared to other countries” in the management of a pandemic.

However, the communal chief said that next Monday he will raise a national government proposal to open commercial activities to open “very gradually”, by sharing a press conference with President Alberto Fernández and the Buenosairean Governor, Axel Kicillof, in the Quinta de Olivos.

Specifically, Rodríguez Larreta announced the next steps that will be taken to progressively ease the quarantine:

1. More businesses will be operational again

They will do so at specific times. As he said, many of these new items “will start at 11 in the morning.”

In addition, he assured that the measures will be focused on local businesses, “so that nobody takes the car and travels” within the City.

2. You can go out with the boys (but not freely)

As he explained, they will be enabled Departures with boys during the weekends with the parents, depending on the Document number and at limited times.

“The boys are the only ones who until now could not go out. Based on the recommendation of the experts, they will go out with their parents for a walk, not to get together to play. The places will continue to be closed,” said Rodríguez Larreta .

In addition, the Buenosairean agent chief clarified that these exits will have to be made in the vicinity of the homes and that the minors continue without being able to use the public transport.

3. They will adapt exclusive areas for pedestrians

The head of the Buenos Aires government announced that they are adapting “many areas of the City so that the distancing can be fulfilled.”

“100 streets have been identified for the circulation of people and for queuing; in some cases cutting lanes, in other cases, enabling the entire street” for people to circulate.

The Buenosairean government defined the reactivation of great part of the commercial items, except those related to the clothing, personal services, gyms and shopping malls. Nor hairdressers, manicures and other similar items.

Although the quarantine will continue until next May 24, the rest of the shops, except those related to these sectors, will be opening.
