Mercado Pago eliminates commissions for collections with QR to businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals

From Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 12, Mercado Pago will reduce from 0.6% to 0 the sales commissions with a QR code paid with money in the account. It will apply to those businesses, entrepreneurs and SMEs that sell up to $ 50 thousand per month. “This decision is part of a series of measures the company is taking to support merchants and Pymds across the country in the context of the Covid-19 crisis,” the company said in a statement.

The scope of this initiative will favor more than thousands of SME businesses and professionals who use QR to process their sales. This segment includes thousands of basic necessities shops such as warehouses, supermarkets, greengrocers and butchers, among others.

The average sales processed with this technology for this group of businesses is about $ 20,000 per month. It will be available this Friday both for those who already charge with QR and for those who start using it these days. The company will send a notification to all merchants who will be able to use this benefit.

How to do

Any business or professional who wants to charge with this modality has to follow these steps:

  • Generate the QR code, print it and place it in view of the clients.
  • Customers scan it with the Mercado Libre or Mercado Pago apps, enter the amount and choose the payment method they prefer.
  • They pay with debit, credit or money in Mercado Pago account.
  • The detail of all sales will appear in the Mercado Pago account.

Another option is to enter the Charge section, put the amount in the calculator and select the Charge with QR option. There, customers will have to scan the code that appears on the mobile device to pay.
