We are going to create hundreds of thousands of new jobs. More of 300 billion dollars in investment in manufacturing in the last two years.

“The price of gasoline has gone down. Inflation has gone down. On top of that, for the past two years, 10 million Americans have started new businesses. Every time someone founds a new company, it represents an aact of hope”.

Biden will give his speech from the podium of the House of Representatives in a completely different context than last year. Now Republicans control the floor, so it’s unlikely any significant new bills will make it to the president’s desk. The GOP is eager to reverse many of Biden’s gains and make the ugly point of ongoing investigations, including one into recent findings, at his residence and an office, of confidential documents from his time as vice president.

Biden will ask the country he leads to give him more time to achieve his biggest goals.

“That has always been my vision for the country: restore the soul of the nation, rebuild the backbone of America – the middle class – unite the country”. That’s what the president plans to say in his State of the Union address, according to excerpts released by the White House ahead of the prime-time address.

And also this: “We have been sent here to finish the job.” Biden is expected to formally announce his 2024 re-election campaign in the coming weeks. Most Democrats believe one term is enough, according to a poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Biden has drawn much criticism from Republicans for his handling of the Chinese spy balloon that traversed the United States before being shot down over the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday. Republican lawmakers had talked about introducing a resolution, just as the President was about to deliver his prime time speech, which would have condemned the Administration for this matter.

The plans have been scrapped and a bipartisan proposal to condemn China is being considered instead.

It is too important a matter. And we want to be strong together against China instead of having our own infighting,” he told the news agency. PA Rep. Mike McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The Texas Republican sponsors the bipartisan resolution.

President Joe Biden will say America’s democracy is “bruised” but “intact” in a State of the Union address in which he will call on Republican opponents to unite to build a “blue-collar” economy, according to excerpts from the White House.

Biden will say that “our democracy remains unscathed and unshakable,” while urging Republicans and Democrats to “to work together” on a “blue-collar project to rebuild America.”

The guests were invited “because they personify issues or themes” that Biden will address in the speech or because they embody administration policies that are working for the American people, the White House said. President Joe Biden is expected to refer to several of the guests by his name.

Doug Emhoffthe husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, will sit with the first lady and has invited Ruth Cohen, a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor from the Washington area, to be her guest, her office said. Biden will want to talk about his accomplishments, set some goals for this year, point out things that need to be fixed, and cheer the nation on. And, of course, describe the state of the Union.

Doing all of that can take a while.. Biden’s 2022 State of the Union address lasted just over 62 minutes. Bill Clinton delivered the longest in history, of one hour and 28 minutesin 2000. The award for shortest speech goes to Republican George W. Bush, who spoke during 47 minutes in 2002.
