The President of the Nation, Alberto Fernández, considered that “there are no problems” in that the Super League Soccer Cup and the rest of the AFA tournaments are held “behind closed doors”, amid the announcement of a package of actions to decrease the spread of the coronavirus, including the suspension of classes for fifteen days.
“If football is played behind closed doors, I do not see any inconvenience for it to continue,” replied Fernández, consulted promptly at a press conference.
Seconds before, the President had announced the suspension of sporting or musical events that include the agglomeration of “many people”.
In addition, Fernández claimed that, due to the impossibility of attending the stadiums, the First Division matches can be televised publicly and not through the paid system as up to now.
“I would love for them to give Argentines the opportunity to see it on open television, for many it is a great diversion to be able to see it,” he said.
