France accumulates 14,393 deaths from coronavirus

France accumulates 14,393 deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, after the 310 new deaths in hospitals in the last 24 hours, the general directorate of Health said in a statement on Sunday.

The number of deaths in hospitals by COVID-19 in the last 24 hours is the lowest since March 29, according to DGS data.

Likewise, for the fourth consecutive day, the number of people in intensive care registered a decrease, with “35 patients” less, which is “a slight decrease”, stresses the DGS, which confirms the “beginning of a high plateau”.

However, with 6,845 serious cases hospitalized, “we must remain vigilant since the hospital and resuscitation services take care of many patients,” warns the DGS.

France counts separately those who died in hospitals and those who die in nursing homes. More than 9,000 people have succumbed to the coronavirus in the former and 5,140 in the latter since March 1, according to the statement.
