Four days after the start of Phase 3, seven hospitals in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico are already saturated

Of the 54 hospitals in the Valle Metropolitan Area available for patient care with Covid-19, seven hospitals are saturated (12.9%) and 11 medical units are about to reach their maximum capacity (20%), according to data reported by the Government of Mexico City in real time. And there are 36 who do not report problems in relation to their capacity (66%).

Of the hospitals that have reached their maximum capacity, four belong to the Ministry of Health: Ignacio Chávez National Institute of Cardiology; National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán; General Hospital Dr. Manuel Gea González and General Hospital of Mexico Dr. Eduardo Liceaga.

Are two of the Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers (ISSSTE): Regional Hospital Primero de Octubre; General Hospital José María Morelos y Pavón. AND one belongs to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS): Hospital de Infectología 01 La Raza.

The capital’s Ministry of Health reported that the availability process of the 1,800 beds with respirations is dynamic therefore, it seeks to support hospitals that no longer report bed availability by transferring convalescent patients to medical units that do have capacity, according to information obtained by The universal.

On Monday, April 20, 10 hospitals were reported without availability, the number decreased because the patients were relocated to other hospitals of the IMSS, ISSSTE and SSa in the Metropolitan Area of ​​the Valley of Mexico.

Meanwhile, the capacity of National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) was reported in red or unavailable on Tuesday, April 21, now it already has a medium availability status. It should be noted that the capital government reported that it would expand the capacity of said site.

Mexico City concentrates the largest number of patients sick with Covid-19, with el 26% of the total number of cases accumulated in the country (2,815) and records 212 deaths.

The half of the cases registered in the city are concentrated in the mayoralties: Iztapalapa (441), Gustavo A. Madero (338) and Tlalpan (237). And the lowest concentration of patients with coronavirus is in Milpa Alta (66), Tláhuac (76) and Magdalena Contreras (80), according to data from the Ministry of Health until April 22.
