Coronavirus in Argentina: the neighbors’ thanks to the doctors with a “tree of life”

Raúl is 53 years old and lived all his life on the corner of Quintana and Romegialli, in Cañada de Gómez, province of Santa Fe. This city is full of neighbors who thank all the workers who go out every day to the streets in the middle of the pandemic for him coronavirus.

On the sidewalk of that house where Raúl grew up there is a tree that witnessed all his childhood, adolescence and maturity. Although it will be removed, it became the “tree of Life”, as the neighbors called it.

For this reason, far from the discrimination cases that health professionals were victims of, this man decided to do the opposite: every day they pass that corner, they will see the posters thanking them.

“Here, every night at 9pm the neighbors go out to applaud doctors and nurses, but there is more workers who are in the line of fire and go out every day to fulfill their tasks “, Raúl told in dialogue with TN and The People.

The tree bears posters with different professions: police, firefighters, communicators, waste pickers, delivery agents, transporters, city guards and police, among others. In the glass you see a huge sign that says “thanks” and what he did with the paint can lids where you wrote each letter in black.

“The materials I used are recyclable. I spent a whole night doing them as a thank you, to give strength to each of the workers who pass day by day around the corner of my house. The tree will be removed in a short time, that’s why I wanted that meets a last mission: what better to say thanks to all those who take care of us so that we stay at home, “concluded Raúl.
