On Wednesday, Mondelez workers accused the company of “trying to take advantage of this moment of crisis to continue making profits.”
According to union sources, the trigger for the conflict was the company’s intention to transfer part of the employees from its plant in Victoria to another establishment in Pacheco “with the threat of mass suspensions.”
“Mondelez intends to take advantage of this moment of crisis to continue making profits, as they had during the four years of the Macri government, such as with the 10% reduction in the social contributions of each worker, “said a statement from the Mondelez Pachecho internal workers commission.
The multinational employees also warned that the activity continues despite the quarantine and that the company “puts pressure on the compañeras and compañeros, whose main concern continues to be health.”

“Following the guidelines of the World Health Organization and the guidelines of our government, Mondelez International is implementing the corresponding prevention measures in all its locations to protect our colleagues, their families and the communities in which we work,” they stressed.
They also detailed that “all the Mondelez plants are operational, adapting its production scheme for the special licenses granted in accordance with current regulations in the face of the pandemic”
According to the company, “the economic and social situation that the country is going through as a result of this pandemic directly affects some of our product categories, as well as the sales channels in which these are marketed.” For this reason, “the company is evaluating alternatives to adapt to these changes in demand, minimizing the impact of the drop in candy sales and ensuring supply to our customers”
“All the alternatives that are being evaluated assume strict compliance with current labor regulations,” they completed.
