As in cars, motorcycle patenting in Córdoba grew more than in the country

Motor vehicle sales in Córdoba last month grew at a much faster rate than the national average.

In June, 23,050 0 kilometer units were patented in the country, 8.9 percent more than in the same month last year, as reported by the Motor Vehicle Division of the Association of Automotive Dealers (Acara).

In any case, the national accumulated index for the first semester amounted to 111,119 units, 39.8 percent below the same period last year.

In Córdoba, meanwhile, 2,163 motorcycles were patented last month, 25 percent above June 2019, with which the province marked a participation in the national market of 9.4 percent.

With this, the accumulated of the local market reached 9,993 units in the first half, 38.3 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

In this framework, the entity that groups motorcycle dealerships warned about the problems that exist to supply the market, due to the obstacles both in production and in the importation of units.

Although Acara Motovehicles were enthusiastic about “the opportunity that the pandemic opens for the motorcycle to be the alternative to public transport,” they stressed the need for new lines of financing.

“June had a good recovery, after very difficult months; which reinforces the idea that the current pandemic can positively influence activity, because motor vehicles are the ideal alternative to public passenger service, which today seeks to discourage” said Carlos Movio, Institutional Director of Acara.
