Apple has hiked HomePod Mini and iMac prices in some countries

Depending on where you live, the HomePod Mini and iMac may have become more expensive. Apple Post noted that the company’s small smart speaker has dropped from £89 to £99 in the UK, and outlets like MacRumors and 9to5Mac reported a similar jump from €99 to €109 in other European countries such as Austria, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

In the UK, each pre-made iMac configuration has also increased by £150. In France, iMac prices increased by €100 for the base model and €110 for other models, while they remained the same in Germany and Ireland.

It is difficult to find a trend in the increases. In New Zealand, the price of the HomePod Mini dropped from NZ$159.00 to NZ$179.00, while it remained the same in neighboring Australia. Meanwhile, the Dutch have been paying the “increased” price of €109 since it became available in the country in March 2022.

Apple did not immediately respond to The edgerequest for comment on why the price increases were happening in certain places. In the US, the HomePod Mini is still $99, the same price it launched at.

Although Apple technically added new software features to its smart speakers this week, giving them the ability to sense temperature and humidity, it would be hard to argue that this justifies a price increase, given that the material was already included. If you bought a HomePod Mini on launch day for $99, you also get this feature through a software update.
