Alberto Fernández’s message on the first day of total quarantine: “Thank you for having understood”

President Alberto Fernández will carry out his activity in the Olivos residence, from where he conducts permanent monitoring of social, preventive and compulsory isolation that began to take effect from the first minute of today and will run until March 31, in order to mitigate the progression of the coronavirus, which so far has registered 128 cases in the country.

In this framework, the president sent a message through his Twitter account and thanked the population for staying at home. “Thank you all for understanding and for staying in your homes. If we are united and we comply with the provisions, this will happen soon. I send each and every one my hug from a distance“, he pointed.

Fernández “is in permanent contact” with the head of the Cabinet and all the ministers dedicated to monitoring measures to confront the pandemic and, also, to the fulfillment of the period of isolation that he announced last night at the Olivos Residence after a meeting with the governors , indicated an official source.

The “social, preventive and compulsory isolation” began to take effect in the first minute of today and will last until March 31, in order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus pandemic throughout the country.

Thus arises from the provisions of Decree 297/2020 published in today’s edition of the Official Gazette, in accordance with what was announced last night by the president.

Meanwhile, Fernández will stay in Olivos, accompanied by the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, who at 16 will announce by webcast an update on the planned macroeconomic development and “the principles of debt sustainability”, according to the statement that yesterday afternoon it distributed, before the meeting that the President had with the governors, where the mandatory quarantine was agreed.
