Aeroméxico lands 40 of its planes in the face of low demand for coronavirus

MEXICO CITY, Mar 19 (Reuters) – Grupo Aeroméxico, which operates the country’s largest airline, grounded 40 aircraft in its fleet due to reduced demand for the coronavirus outbreak, according to a document seen by Reuters.

Aeroméxico said the measure is the result of a 35% decrease in the capacity of its home network and a 50% decrease in its international network, according to a letter from the company’s CEO, Andrés Conesa, sent to its employees.
