Coronavirus.- Ecuador is approaching 68,000 infections of coronavirus

Ecuador has approached this Sunday the 68,000 infections of coronavirus and has reached 5,047 deaths, according to the latest balance offered by the Ministry of Health.

The agency has reported that there are a total of 67,870 confirmed positives as of this Sunday, while the number of patients recovered from the pandemic has stood at 5,900.

The authorities have reported that 8,842 people have been discharged from hospital, while 15,541 have been epidemiologically discharged. Of the confirmed cases in Ecuador, 31,533 are stable in home isolation and 685 are stable although admitted to the hospital.

The province of Guayas continues to be the most affected by the pandemic with 16,480 infections and 1,637 deaths. Pichincha follows, with 10,673 positives and 583 deaths; and Manabí, with 5,110 cases and 680 deaths.
