More than 475,000 deaths from coronavirus worldwide (AFP count)


The pandemic of the new coronavirus caused more than 475,000 deaths worldwide, a balance that has doubled in less than two months, according to a count made by the AFP from official sources this Wednesday at 06:30 GMT.

In total, 477,117 people died worldwide and there are currently 9,263,743 registered cases. Europe remains the area with the most deaths (193,800), but the region where the pandemic is progressing most rapidly at the moment is Latin America, where the deceased exceeded 100,000 on Tuesday and there are already 2,163,835 positive cases.
