This Saturday, a plane with 243 repatriated Argentines landed in Ezeiza from Miami, after several days of being stranded in different cities of the United States due to the closing of borders by the coronavirus.
The aircraft touched down at 7:18 p.m. ending the nightmare that many lived during this time, that it had started as a vacation trip and turned into an odyssey.
Everyone who got a seat on this flight were considered extremely vulnerable, so they had priority to return. Among them pregnant women, patients undergoing cancer treatment, immunosuppressants, families with young children.
But after spending two hours on migrations, signing the affidavit to return to their homes to comply with the quarantine, going through the temperature control and looking for their suitcases, many complained about the treatment received.
“Everything was a disaster. With the papers, with what they charged us … the flight came complete, they did not respect social distance and we pay like a normal trip after being stranded for a month. Up the plane we were treated perfect. There are many people there still, who have no resources and sleep at the airport, “a young woman explained to TN.
Chancellery calculates that they are nine thousand Argentines who are still stranded abroad, and more than 70 thousand those who have already returned to the country in the midst of the pandemic.
In this days there will be more than fifteen flights of returnees, from the United States, Australia, Peru, Cuba, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Mexico, Brazil and Guatemala.
