Tokyo games should focus on “must have” spending, says IOC Coates


TOKYO, Apr 16 – Organizers of the Olympic Games should cut costs related to the event to be held in Tokyo next year, focusing only on “must-have” expenses, IOC Coordination Commission chief John said on Thursday. Coates, after a meeting with the Japanese authorities.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Japanese government last month made the unprecedented decision to postpone the Games, which were due to start in July, due to the global crisis from the new coronavirus.
