Coronavirus | Is it a holiday on Monday, March 30?

Due to some doubts that arose after the President’s announcement, the Government confirmed that next Monday, March 30, it’s not a bridge holiday but a business day, although with the own restrictions of the preventive and obligatory social isolation that rules to contain the advance in the country of the coronavirus. The next day, Tuesday the 31st, will be a holiday because the one of April 2 is ahead.

Thus, on Monday there will be bank clearing as reported by the Central Bank, essential for the movement of companies.

“It is valid to clarify that next March 30 is not a holiday and that, like the rest of the days of the period of preventive and compulsory social isolation, all workers will be exempted from attending their places of work and being available, as far as possible, to provide tasks remote, except those who provide tasks for activities considered essential, “says the statement from the Ministry of Labor released in recent hours.

In announcing the quarantine as of March 20, Alberto Fernández reported that the April 2 holiday – for Veterans and Memorial Day in the Falklands War – would advance to Tuesday, March 31, and wrongly added that Monday would be “bridge”.

The labor portfolio also pointed out that “all workers have been guaranteed that, beyond the obligation not to go to work and to stay at home, complying with preventive and compulsory social isolation, will receive their usual income

On March 19, the President announced preventive and compulsory social isolation -which runs until March 31st- in the framework of a strategy to fight against the advance of the coronavirus, under the principle that health is privileged over the economy.
