589 are already infected

Of the 87 cases, 37 correspond to people with a history of travel to areas with community transmission, while 24 are close contacts

Four deaths and 87 cases of patients with coronavirus were confirmed this Thursday in the country, bringing the number of those infected with the virus to 589, and 12 the deceased., as reported by the Ministry of Health of the Nation.

Of the total cases confirmed this Thursday, 30 of the patients are from the City of Buenos Aires, 27 from the province of Buenos Aires, 3 from Córdoba, 3 from Chaco, 12 from Santa Fe, 3 from Tierra del Fuego, 3 from Neuquén , 1 from San Luis, 1 from Mendoza, 2 from Jujuy, and 2 from Santa Cruz.

Of the 87 cases, 37 correspond to people with a history of travel to areas with community transmission, while 24 are close contacts of confirmed cases and 26 are under investigation to determine the epidemiological history.

There are three people who died this Thursday: two men from the province of Buenos Aires, one 89 and the other 78; and an 82-year-old woman from the City of Buenos Aires; while this Wednesday a 59-year-old man died in Chaco with a history of travel to the United States and comorbidities under study, but his diagnosis was only confirmed this Thursday.

These four deaths are added to the other eight that had been confirmed until this Wednesday.

“At the moment, in Argentina most of the cases are imported, local transmission is detected in conglomerates and the beginning of community transmission in the AMBA and Chaco region is identified. In our country strategies for containment and mitigation of mortality and transmission coexist” , was indicated in the daily report of the Health portfolio.

This Thursday morning, the undersecretary of Health Strategies, Alejandro Costa, confirmed at the time of providing the daily report, that 49.8 percent of confirmed cases of coronavirs in the country are related to trips abroad, and that 41 percent of those infected are men, while the age group most affected is that of people between the ages of 20 and 59.
