This Wednesday morning, at the Otamendi Sanatorium in the City of Buenos Aires, it was confirmed the seventh death from coronavirus in Argentina.
As confirmed by the authorities, it was “An 81-year-old woman in close contact with a traveler, 82 years old, also interned in the Otamendi and confirmed with COVID-19, who had returned from a trip to the United States”.
Within this framework, the City’s health authorities reported that today 174 positive cases of coronavirus (135 residents and 39 non-residents). And that of that total, 119 are hospitalized.
The difference in the official registrations between Nation and City has to do with the place of residence that is taken to identify each case.
The health authorities also reported that there are 348 suspected cases in study (254 residents and 94 non-residents) the Malbrán Institute. Likewise, 914 are close contacts of confirmed cases which are being monitored by the Ministry of Health of the City of Buenos Aires.
In this framework, the latest report from the national authorities reports 86 new cases of COVID-19 and the total number of infected in Argentina amounts to 387.
The report No. 21 released in the last hours of Tuesday, indicated that 30 patients are from the city of Buenos Aires, 30 from the province of Buenos Aires, 9 from Chaco, 7 from Córdoba, 4 from Tierra del Fuego, 3 from Santa Fe, 1 from La Pampa, 1 from Neuquén and 1 from Santa Cruz.
Of the 86 cases, 41 correspond to people with a history of travel to areas with community transmission, while 20 are close contacts of confirmed cases, 25 are under investigation to determine the epidemiological history.
