It is expected that in 10 or 15 days the process will begin, which will be through the government’s internet pages, with a simple procedure.

The national government reported that a payment of $ 10,000 pesos will be awarded to informal workers and small monotributistas. This is part of the battery of measures taken by the President and his ministers to alleviate the economic crisis caused by the advance of the coronavirus.

This Emergency Family Income (IFE) will be granted to families whose sole support is an informal worker or a monotributista (categories A and B). In turn, they reported that it will also include domestic workers, both formal and informal.

“The benefit will not make a distinction between those who have a formal or black job, since the activity is not among those excepted from submitting to the preventive and mandatory social isolation in force throughout the country since Friday,” government sources said.

This clarification is based on official figures from the International Labor Organization (ILO), which indicate that close to a million domestic workers are in informality and do not have social protection.

In the presentation made by the Minister of the Economy, Martín Guzmán, and by the head of the Labor portfolio, Claudio Moroni in the Quinta de Olivos, it was reported that this Family Income will be compatible with the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) that many Domestic workers perceive.

According to portfolio figures, it is expected to benefit 3.6 million families. They also indicated that to access the monotributistas and workers in the informal economy “they should not have any other income, important assets or financial income.”

It is expected that in 10 or 15 days the process will begin, which will be through the government’s internet pages, with a simple procedure.
