The Chamber of Deputies formally accused Rosario Robles on Thursday, former head of two secretariats of state during the government of the president Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) and that he is in preventive detention accused of improper exercise of public service, for “acts and omissions to the detriment of public interests”During the exercise of their functions.
The Plenum of the Lower House approved the accusation unanimously, with 271 votes in favor and no vote against or abstentions in a session where a significant part of the opposition, headed by the PAN (National Action Party) he missed protesting the non-suspension of legislative work due to the coronavirus crisis.

The accusations against the former head of Sedesol (Secretary of Social Development) and Sedatu (Secretary of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development) are related to the “acts and omissions to the detriment of the fundamental public interests and their good office, committed in the exercise of their secretarial duties during the period from December 1, 2012 to November 30, 2018 ”.
The Instructional Section noted that the 64-year-old woman allegedly violated articles 126 and 134 of the Mexican Constitution, as well as various provisions of the Federal Law of Responsibilities of Public Servants, the Federal Law of Budget and Fiscal Responsibility, the Organic Law of the Federal Public Administration, among others.
For this, lawmakers recommend that Robles Berlanga is sanctioned with disqualification from the exercise of employment, position or commission in the public service for a period of 20 years.
In accordance with the conclusions of the Instructional Section approved by the Plenary, it is assured that during the period in which she held the post of Secretary without interruption, both in Social Development and in Sedatu, “a referral network for public resources was implemented with a systematic and continuous modus operandi“
