Tom Hanks and his wife leave Australian hospital after testing positive for coronavirus: medium

SYDNEY, Mar 17 (Reuters) – Award-winning American actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, left an Australian hospital five days after testing positive for coronavirus, People magazine reported Monday.

The couple now rests in a rented house in Australia where they remain in quarantine, according to a report in the US magazine that quotes a representative of the actor.

Last week, Hanks revealed on Twitter that he and Wilson had tested positive for the virus in Australia, where he is working on a movie, after they both felt muscle aches and a mild fever. Both Hanks and Wilson are 63 years old. [nL1N2B50G1]

Hanks had traveled to the Gold Coast, on the east coast of Australia, to start filming a movie about Elvis Presley. The actor will portray “King of Rock” representative Colonel Tom Parker in the Warner Bros. production.

Hanks and Wilson were the first American celebrities to contract the coronavirus.
