The City Police arrested the manager of the Baires VIP bar early Monday morning, from Palermo, for not complying with the decree issued by the Buenos Aires Government as part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The 34-year-old woman was detained for several hours for refusing to vacate and close the place, located in Córdoba Avenue at 4000.
The bar was not only full of people, but there were also minors and it worked as a dance bowling alley without having the corresponding authorization, according to police sources.
The procedure, by the Ministry of Justice and Security of the City and the Government Control Agency, together with personnel from the City Police, was carried out around three in the morning after residents of the area made the complaint.
The woman was transferred to Alcaidía 15 and testified before the prosecutor in charge of the case, Maximiliano Vence. She was charged and released hours later.
The decree 140/2020 dictated by the City Government, related to the coronavirus pandemic, establishes “the suspension of any event, meeting or event of an eventual, artistic, musical or festive nature more than two hundred people. “
In addition, it determines the restriction on the occupancy capacity by fifty percent for all activities carried out in temples, theaters, cinemas, game rooms and privately run cultural centers. Also the suspension in all establishments registered under the heading “Class C dance venue”.
