Only 58 universities, of the 142 public and private that exist in Peru, have so far complied with requesting the card that allows their students to enjoy the medium passage, among other benefits.
This was reported by Mariella del Barco Herrera, director of Degrees and Titles of the National Superintendence of Higher University Education (Sunedu), who warned that more than 50% of students could be left without that important document this year, Andina announced.
“It is necessary that the universities do not stop requesting the card, because those who will be directly affected are the students,” said the official in dialogue with the aforementioned agency. He specified that the process of issuing the new university card began on February 1 and the higher study centers were duly informed that the process was open.
“The process is simple, the universities must upload all the information about their students to the Sunedu database, attach the photographs and the system generates a payment order. The process lasts no more than seven business days, “he detailed.
Del Barco recalled that the validity of the current university card was extended until June 30, 2017. He pointed out that Sunedu plans to issue an average of 1.1 million university cards throughout the country this year for students of institutes, schools and centers of higher education.Tweets by Sociedad_ECpe
