2-4. Bayern achieves the double with a win against Leverkusen

Berlin, Jul 4 (EFE) .- Bayern won the German Cup on Saturday, and achieved their second consecutive double, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 2-4 in the final with goals from David Alaba, Serge Gnabry and two from Robert Lewandowski.
The victory of the Bavarian team was at no time in danger despite the fact that in the second half Leverkusen starred in some phases of good play.
Bayern came out with the usual training in the final part of the Bundesliga, which meant that Thiago Alcántara had to start the game on the bench.
At Leverkusen, coach Peter Bosz opted to play with Kai Havertz on top, leading to the team’s best player becoming isolated, as Bayern soon gained control of midfield.
Bayern pressured Leverkusen in their own half. Leverkusen awaited Bayern at near the center line.
In the 9th minute Joshua Kimmich shot over the goal from outside the area and in the 10th Coman had a good opportunity to pass Goretzka, but his shot was too focused and did not create problems for goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.
The first goal came in the 16th minute with a David Alaba free kick over the Leverkusen barrier.
The second, in the 24th through Serge Gnabry with a cross shot from Kimmich. The play originated in a ball recovery in the opposite half. Then there were three touches before Gnabry was in shooting position.
Leverkusen went into the break without having generated a single occasion, except for an arrival by Amiri on the right, which was called offside.
In the second half Bosz entered Kerim Demirbay for Baumgartlinger and Kevin Volland for Amiri, allowing him to delay Havertz to midfield.
Leverkusen improved, although in the first five minutes they found a solid Bayern. Then he began to put the ball in the Bavarian half, had arrivals in the area and at times it was believed that the comeback was possible.
However, when Leverkusen’s best move came Bayern’s third goal, in the 59th minute. Manuel Neuer cleared a long shot and the ball hit Lewandowski, who, from about 20 meters, signed a strong shot on goal.
The ball went into Hradecky’s hands, but then bounced off the grass and went to the back of the net.
Leverkusen continued to insist and managed to close the gap in the 64th minute with a header by Sven Bender after a corner kick.
In the 77th minute Lewandowski scored again, center Ivan Perisic, and that was the sentence.
Leverkusen’s second goal, scored by Havertz from a penalty in added time, was only a matter of statistics.
